Yeah, those Cunningham whistles just really beat any other diaphragm horn to me. I still like the Diaphone recording in New Hyde Park LINY, with the STH10 in the background. This one almost sounds like a diaphragm horn.

Or the Diaphone sounds on the Nassau county page on LIFA. Very spooky. 8)

That horn in the New Hyde Park clip is actually a Diaphone, albiet a really smooth sounding Diaphone. It is quite impressive of a sound though, I will give it that. I am not sure why this Diaphone sounds so good or has this particurlar sound.

Its been brought up that its possibly that the FD has set it to such a low air pressure that it gives it a low-smoother tone than most other Diaphones. I believe it was brought up on The Gamewell Diaphone Site

Is that the horn found commonly on AmTrack?
If so, great horn, even better with all bells forward.

Fog horn, I'd tell you why, but you might think I'm crazy for telling you. They use it alot in cartoons the B O sound.
the nathan M's are a much better sounding series to me. although i would like to get a triple horn setup, like the Grover 1275, a lot of replications by other companies have made horns exactly like them.
Yep, the K5LA is an Amtrak horn. (A means Amtrack)
