False. Both leaded race fuels and 100LL aviation fuel are still widely available, but not for street/taxable usage. One could run regular unleaded with a lead substitute, but the shelf life will be much shorter than straight 110 or 100LL. Lead or its equivalent is mandatory in this application, due to the VF4 having soft seats. If it was a VF4D, one could safely run unleaded, as all D submodels have stelite valves.

Not sure. I probably have used a half gallon for the past few times I've run it. The tank holds 5, I've got about 2 gals in it right now. 110 octane isn't cheap, that's for sure
