No new major progress as of the past couple days. Turkey day, super busy at work, Inlaws are over. I'm sure everyone is in a similar situation.

I received the new cloth covered wire in the mail. Really nice stuff. Need to verify the firing order on the VF4, then I can start cutting and soldering the spark plug wires.

I did print out the B&N owners manual and compiled it. Was getting tired of squinting at a PDF on my phone lol!

Oh, I guess the biggest deal was finally getting in touch with Mike at West Shore. At this point it's about a 95% certainty I will be purchasing a 1st gen Allertor projector assembly as a stand- in for the original projector. It was way cheaper than fabbing a new projector horn, and having the straighten out the original remnants. It will definitely look the part and be functional!
The first gen Allertor projector was directly designed of of the Mobil Directo assembly, and will bolt right on! I consider myself blessed on this acquisition as these 1st gen assemblies are not easy to find, in fact this is Mike's last one he has.
I expect I will have this projector in my shop in the next 2-3weeks.
I will keep the original compression chamber and intake in my shop rafters for now.

Some gentlemen were requesting close ups on the chopper. So here you go.

Being aluminum, it's fairly lightweight, maybe 15lbs Now the stator on the other hand, that's about 75-85lbs!

All the parts you see here, chopper/stator/aircleaner will be media blasted in the next week or so. The parts will be riding around in my work van for right till then!

What’s the rotor diameter on this thing? The stator has mounting holes that look very similar to Fedelcode stators; they were used to mount the coding mechanisms. IIRC most of them came from the factory with the holes so technicians could install the coding equipment in the field if so desired.

In case I hadn’t said this already, I’m incredibly impressed with how much work has been done in such a short time frame. I remember seeing this MD here at least a decade ago, and to now see it resurrected is a real treasure. Thank you for preserving a piece of Wisconsin history!

Connor

Had to run out with a tape measure quick. Chopper is 18in diameter and 5.75in thick

Im.open to the possibility of adding a coding mechanism in the future. It would be pretty rad if I could make a CODED mobil directo!

Coded Mobil Derecto? Neat idea but how would that work exactly?
