Don't worry boys, we'll definitely be getting a video up once we fire up this VF4 for the first time!

Good news on the Stromberg. Thing is absolutely immaculate on the inside. As far as I can tell all I have to do is simply pull all the jets out and clean for good measure, then check the needle for proper sealing. Throw a new gasket in and bolt it back together.

When you get the siren functioning you should make it remote control so you won’t need to chase it to turn it off

The 1st remote function would be to start the engine, the 2nd function would toggle the throttle solenoid manually (for alert growl or any custom signal),
The 3rd function would toggle power to the arduino (for the attack signal), the forth function would cut the engine.

This is the general plan. For simplicities sake, I may forgo the auto start/stop. This would simplify the wiring and the amount of relays required. I intend just to have a single on-off throttle solenoid, then all the arduino has to do is just toggle this on and off.

But we'll see. Let's get this thing running, and running well first!

Made some more progress this morning. Got the generator and distributor in. Got static timing set. Now waiting on new spark plug wires and terminals.

Got the carburetor cleaned and reassembled. Now getting paint on it.

Finalized installation of intake/exhaust Manifold. Had to replace one stud.
Got Bendix Auto-choke installed.

Also got kill and starter switch reinstalled. Waiting on wire from same source that I am getting the spark plug wire from. I'm using period- correct cloth covered wire. Gonna look pretty snazzy.

Goal this week is to get the chopper, stator, air cleaner and belt cover sandblasted

I'm now in the process of disassembling the air cleaner. No way in heck am I going to sandblast this without doing this. One would never get out the media from the inside ever. That's all this VF4 needs is sucking in some nice sharp aluminum oxide grit! Lol

That old shortie looks beautiful in that paint! I love what you’ve done with it! I hope you can take it to a sirencon one time when it’s done!

Thanks everyone for the compliments and comments. I'm just as enthusiastic about this as all of you are. Seeing everyone getting hyped is feeding into my own ambition. I truly cannot wait till I can bring this to Rhinelander to have everyone else enjoy this monumental piece of siren history.
