lightning horns

I'm not sure what type of horns these are, but they sound cool. They are apparently used to warn people at outdoor sporting events of incoming lightning.

They sound like air horns to me, but I'm not sure.

Yes those are air horns. They are made by a company called Thor Guard.

These look like standard automotive horns. One would think that larger horns like those from Kockums Sonics would be more effective.

Westerville has a bunch of these at nearly all of their parks. I stopped by one of the parks on my way to lunch and snapped some pictures of one at Hoff Woods Park a couple months ago.

My school has one of these on it, it`s pretty loud but I`ve never actually seen what it looks like due to where it is on the school`s roof, it sounds the same as this one and is brand new.
