A video of the rotating model would be interesting. I don't think I've ever seen one of those in action.

Anyone have any specs on it?

Silverton, OH & Deer Park, OH Pics

I believe this is a Sterling Model "M" (V?) but I'm not entirely sure. This is located on the corner of Matson Ave. & Beech Ave. in Deer Park, OH. The second picture was taken through a windshield so it has a slight bend in the lower left corner. http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/1998...

The two Thunderbolts I know of in this area certainly get your attention when they sound. The one on the hill ( http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/7900/87356944780de6a5ca5buk4.jpg ) can be heard everywhere down the hill, echoing off of buildings. The one in my avatar is on top of the abandoned Stear...

I got the message, but school started a few days after and I probably forgot about it. The only two sirens I know of are the Thunderbolt on top of Stearns & Foster, and the one that you recorded. There is also a siren in the bell tower of Lockland's town hall, or so it looks like it. It's rather...

Reading, OH Thunderbolt Audio (Thurs. Oct 18, near midnight)

The Thunderbolts were just running their cycle here for a Severe Thunderstorm Warning (Alert mode). I recorded audio from my headset, which was sitting on my window ledge. I did have to amplify the sound, so there is some static, but you can still hear the siren(s). I believe the one you are hearing...

I would prefer the 4/5, because not only does a lower pitch sound penetrate better, it also sounds better. I don't really care for high pitched sirens.

Reading, Ohio - Thunderbolt 1000T

Hello. This is my first post here. The two closest sirens to me are both Thunderbolts, both 1000T's I believe. :) One is up on the hill, and it's got a little problem. The other is on top of an old abandoned factory in Lockland, Ohio. I think power has been cut to the building, so it must get power ...
