Mechanical "White Noise" Generator

Without going into the details, I've recently begun to regularly attend therapy sessions to help with some emotional issues I've been having for a while. This is a fairly large clinic with dozens of offices. Sitting on the floor right outside the door of each office is one of these: http://i287.phot...

STL-10 in Omaha?

I have a possible little mystery...to me, anyway. First off, I'll admit that my knowledge of the siren system used in and around Omaha, NE is extremely limited, very incomplete and potentially incorrect. Here is what I do know right off the top of my head: -The system consists of primarily T-128s wi...

Eastern Iowa Siren Map

Just by random chance happened to stumble across this siren coverage map for a large chunk of Iowa on the website for the local ABC affilliate (KCRG). It doesn't provide any information regarding siren models or ages and the actual coverage it indicates is questionable due to iffy estimate figures (...

Garrison is a rather small town (Pop. 371). Being unfamiliar with the specs of the E-Class, I really cannot comment on whether this is sufficient coverage or not. Reliability, I presume, will have to be one of those "wait and see" issues. I will say regarding the E-Class vs a Whelen...Vint...

New ASC E-Class

Just happened to be in Garrison (Iowa) today for a computer repair job when I noticed that they replaced their old Fedelcode siren with an ASC E-Class. The only camera I had with me at the time was my phone, so I'll have to go back and get better pictures another day. http://i287.photobucket.com/alb...

There's a white T-Bolt on the NE side of Fairfax next to the water tower, not far off of US 151. The fact that it's in a new-ish housing development, and thus is a fairly recent installation, makes me wonder if it's one of the T-Bolts from Cedar Rapids. Also, it's awesome that they hooked it up to a...

I've posted this before, but I still find it interesting how Center Point, IA has their siren right on the very top of the water tower. http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll132/bigloudnoise/Sirens/Center%20Point/th_20080412_DSCF2455.jpg http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll132/bigloudnoise/Sirens/Ce...

Correct, Omaha has a system of mostly T-128s with the occasional 2001 in the mix.

Just an FYI on that HP camera...I have one of those, and the microphone on it gets easily overloaded by loud and low-pitched noises, so it may not be a very good camera for siren recording. Hopefully having it the farthest away will help it work out better for you.

Looking forward to the recordings!

Apologies for that, I removed my videos temporarily so I could watermark and reupload them, but life got busy and stuff, and it's kinda gotten lax. I'll try to work on reupping some, if not all, of my old videos again this weekend

EDIT: Got it reuploaded. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjh0Da0PmS4
