I also think its a good idea for cities Tornado-Prone becasue schools ussaly have playgrounds and after schools kids could be playing when a tornado is spotted. I would say about 40-62% of topekas sirens are on top or at school sites.

Well the reason why my map migh tbe different from theirs is becasue i use 1 mile for sirens such as the Thunderbolt, Thunderbeam, and 2001. and a Half Mile for the SD-10 and such.

I voted yes, infact the cloest sirens to me is a Model5 locations atop of Avondale East Elementry School.

I figured it all up today, with the 70miles there and back and with gas prices the way they are it would cost about $39.78, but i still think it is worth it.

I noticed the post on the old board and i got locations of the sirens and my gosh there are a lot of gaps...i have maps for 5 of the 9 zones in Marion County, i will get to the other zones tomorrow but here are the ones i have now

Useing the siren map i made for you i have pinpointed the perfect location for you to record the sirens...see the attached image below, also how do you know post is testing the sirens next week, try to find out when the time and date is tho.

But in Manhattan, Kansas' case it is sounded for an event of a earthquake strong enough to pose a threat of the Tuttle Creek Dam breaking and Flooding the City of Manhattan, but if that did happen areas downstream such as Topeka, Lawrence, and other areas along the Kansas River.

Does anybody know the models for the cities of Norman, Edmond, and Midwest City, as some of you might know i have a running siren map database of more then 500+ locations of sirens throughout the United States and Canada. Right now i am working on the sirens in Kansas City, MO
