Re: Phase Converter/ Motor Question

Tying a phase converter in with electrical power, whether it be generated power or commercial power , is something that that I would advise against. There are more components needed to properly and SAFELY convert the electric phase. I think Federal Signal's mobile siren (a demo unit??? seen one this...

Re: Dallas Flood Siren System

If everyone you have spoke with is clueless, this very well could be a Corp of Engineers project since it is near waterways presumably.

Re: Model 5 Siren - Motor stuff

I don't own a Mod. 5 but I do have knowledge of the electric motor side.... The grease that was put into those two ports eventually does thin and gets slung around. Yes, to remove all of the grease ,you will have to disassemble the electric motor....the motor frame and end shield or casing and the e...

Re: Siren Sound Effects Recording

For a classic experience, I definitely recommend going over to Abilene, Kansas. They had 3 Federal Signal 500 SH-TTs that are 10/12 port. Last year one of them was removed for some reason. I suspect that it was taken down for repairs or something of the sort, since a Model 2 was put in place and is...

It's atop the Army Records bldg. at Independence and Hardesty. I've seen it before as my uncle lives a little under a mile from it.
Well...no wonder I couldn't see it  just a few miles off....next time I'm up that direction I'll take a look...thanks for clarifying that one.

I still look for it when I get by there for work, kind of hard to locate with all the building structures...maybe Go...

....Not sure how old you are, so some of this may not apply to your situation. In your Jr. High / middle school years get good grades in mathematics(Algebra) and take industrial arts/shop classes. In High school continue on with Algebra, if your inclined, Calculus and Trigonometry....continue on wit...

Re: Mobile Sirens?

The ‘alert’ tone is just a steady tone that plays at a constant pitch......that's all.....I have heard it before...It doesn't sound like what you are hoping it sounds like rather just an early 60's electronic siren found in use in Police Cars , Ambulances, etc. It has absolutely nothing to do with C...

Re: Mobile Sirens?

I cannot provide any documented proof other than what I know to be factually true..... I can give you 3 different instances that I am aware of where an alert (for a Tornado warning) was given, but not by means of a conventional outdoor warning device....a siren. 1) Although they are not mobile , the...

Re: any info on this would help

Going off of my own experiences dealing with my antique Ford and aged metal appearance and your siren... The Red parts look to be in good shape for something that has been exposed to the elements..... going off of what I see with the siren portion itself and not taking into account anything we now k...
