Can they be tricked by something with a flashbulb attached to it? (I'm not going to do this, just wondering if it is possible)

I did a little experiementing with a text to speech program, and one of the voices it has sounds alot like a voice I've heard being used in a fire alarm system. (Microsoft Mike) I've also heard they conducted a study that stated that during an emergency female voices are more calming than male ones....

How is the data inputed into the chip? Do they have some guy that just types the phrases into the machine?

I like the ones that speak to you. (May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please. A fire emergency has been detected.... etc) I've always wondered who makes the recordings for those. They must get paid alot of money to do that.

Heat detector? I've heard of Smoke detectors, but what exactly is the purpose of a heat detector?
