Re: My siren controllers

Interesting. My local county has a T128 with that same exact setup. The ASC Remote Terminal Unit, radio and battery chargers are in the top cabinet. The batteries are in the bottom cabinet. It's an Excel branded T128 prototype too. Not very many of them exist anymore.

Re: About the Milwaukee post a week ago

I'm pretty sure they're keeping it in the new system. From what I've heard from videos and maps is that they changed the radio on the Hurricane so that it's now apart of the new system. ASC is also making sure that it will stay alive for as long as possible! (although it could be SWS that takes car...

Re: Towns wierd use of sirens.

This isn't unusual. Forest Park in Cincinnati OH used a 2t22 siren for fire calls when it was in service as a civil defense siren. The fire department didn't own it at the time, as the county recieved civil defense funding.

Re: Westmont Thunderbolt Replaced

Good sounding Bolt! Ours in Cincinnati OH were deactivated around 2015 and replaced by new T-128's. The Thunderbolts were all put in between 1955 to 1989 and installed in batches. That's a pretty long time for a Thunderbolt. Unfortunately, most of them were abandoned in place with a select few being...

Re: Games with Sirens in them.

In Far Cry 5, most of the enemy outposts have FS 2001's standing on poles.

I saw that Warren County is growl testing their sirens throughout the day today. Were there certain issues last night?
Not that I'm aware of. Harveysburg and Lebanon may have had issues due to power failure.

Good Ambience. I heard Mason's new 2001-130's and the 2001-SRN behind me in Cottell Park.

Unfortunately, the 130's were rather faint. You can't hear them as much in the wind.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Warren County's went off within 5 minutes of the warning being sent out. That's pretty quick despite being an all call system.

Re: Schaumburg ACA P-50 Came Down Today…

You'd need a genset the size of a car to run one of these. They pull 900 amps at startup on 208 volt 3 phase. On 240 3 phase, it's around 500 amps on startup. On 480 3 phase, it's much less at 200 amps to start the siren. That 50 hp motor is a pig and requires so much energy to start. Good to know!...
