It's been done numerous times. There's an STH-10 mounted upside down, a pair of first gen Federal Type Mach. Bs, a Sireno vertical, and a few others come to mind. That STH-10 is/was at Smith & Edwards in Ogden, UT, which is a sports/fishing warehouse. Not a permanent installation, unfortunately.
As far as I know, we don't have a lot of documentation that provides more than broad dates for these older Federals, but I can say it predates 1955. My best suggestion is to look for documents from the town, or newspaper articles, referencing it's installation. Can you closer pictures of the siren, ...

There are automatic timers with adjustable cycle lengths available online. To keep everything compact, find one rated for the load you are controlling. At 120VAC, I recommend 2A or greater.
Based on the specifications listed online, the Sentry F-2 and Federal Signal Model A are identical in output volume. However, the Sentry F-2 draws 2.5A at 120V, and the Model A draws 1.9A at 120V. Brand new F-2s are available for half the price of a Model A, but both sirens are generally regarded as...
That is very helpful, thank you. Do you have some advice about the amount and exact shape of the vanes? 2800RPM+ means 3000RPM would be good or is more more better? I guess then I we would need a belt drive since most motors are either 1500 or 3000RPM with a 50Hz grid. The siren would be mounted ho...
The main thing is I need some plans or guidelines for the design. I think the execution is not an issue, but I have no idea how to design the fan (is it called that), the slots and horns, if we need horns. I don't know what type of design would be good in general for our use case. The design of a s...
Please remove the map jurisdiction polygon, or move to a different layer, it obstructs the view. Otherwise, great map, it's cool to see sirens marked in a region that otherwise gets overlooked.
Like said above, most of the sound comes from the ports, it's where the action happens. Some of the sound does feed back out of the intake, but the sound level is marginal and is generally ignored in many designs.
