Re: Minneapolis/St. Paul Area Sirens

CITIES: Yes, St. Paul has had their 2001-130's for just over a year. The Thunderbolts roared for their last time late last spring (2012, monthly test). I haven't heard much about how they're working (reliability), but I would imagine things are going fine. They got a HUGE grant from FEMA, which I t...

Re: Minneapolis/St. Paul Area Sirens

Plymouth---(my hometown :D ) (used to have (2) Soundmasters (not sure which model), one ACA Allertor, and (4) Thunderbeams)---still have all four Thunderbeams, but the Allertor and Soundmasters have been replaced with 2001's. They city has grown considerably over the years, and they've installed ad...

Re: ACA Allertor 125 Edina, MN Alert/Attack Full DV available

Oh and Edina had another Allertor at Cornelia Park, at the corner of Cornelia Drive & W. 72nd Street, on top of the light pole with four lights on it. We went to record this siren once in the 90s. It started up then quickly failed. They removed it shortly after.

Re: ACA Allertor 125 Edina, MN Alert/Attack Full DV available

Edina also had at least two SD-10s. One off of Valley View & Hansen Rds, and one on Gleason Rd (right off of Dewey Hill Rd, next to Braemar Golf Course). And there was a yellow omni directional siren at Cahill & Dewey Hill Rds (it may have been a ACA Super Banshee - that's what it looked lik...

Re: ACA Allertor 125 Edina, MN Alert/Attack Full DV available

I grew up on the border of Edina (in St. Louis Park). The first siren I tape recorded was the Allertor right next to the Public Works building (right behind Jerry's Foods on Vernon) back in 1984. At that time, Edina had an Allertor at Pamela Park (on 58th Street, between France Ave & Wooddale Av...

Re: ACA Allertor 125 in Richfield, Minnesota

Oh, and there was the blue SD-10 on 64th St, between Upton & Vincent Aves. That too has been replaced by a 2001. Siren hunting used to be so fun!

Re: ACA Allertor 125 in Richfield, Minnesota

Richfield also had a p-15 (or p-10, I'm not sure) right next to some tennis courts at 68th & Logan Ave. It was single-toned and a pale blue color. It's since been replaced by a 2001. Also, if you Google map this location, go to street level, then select view from 2011 or 2007, you'll see the P-1...

Richfield also had a blue Allertor right behind a liquor store off of 66th Street & Cedar Ave. It has since been replaced by a 2001.
