Re: ATI sirens really are crap!

Yeah, I live near Longmont, CO and they have had their fair share of ATI's shenanigans. Thanks to the ATIs malfunctioning (twice, one time sirens had to go be manually shut off.) they're now taking down their system, and don't plan on installing a new one. They're just going to rely on reverse 911 a...

Re: How rare are single phase allertors

I would say they're pretty rare for a few resaons: single phase motors don't last as long as 3 phase motors so likely more single phases have been replaced (proportionally). Also I'd guess more 3 phase Allertors were produced so I would say that if you found an Allertor the chance of it being an All...

Re: 2019 SWA Plans?

If I've got time, Colorado's SWA is on April 14th so I may be able to record a 4004, 3016 analog, and if I can really stretch it I could get another 4004 or a 2001.

Re: Train Horn Range?

I can hear a train horn at my house from about 4 miles away, as long as it's clear and there's no wind.

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

I have heard multiple ideas of what this is, however I'm still not sure what this is because it could be one of many things. I've heard a model 5 and a Siro-Drone as guesses. This siren is located in Denver, CO.

Re: Two Alabama Counties Silence Siren Systems

Dang, that's unfortunate that they are just leaving them to rust.

Re: Port Ratio?

Yes, I was just saying that in general a siren with more ports would be a higher pitch, I know motor rpm also accounts for pitch. For example a 3200rpm siren with 7 ports would be a lower pitch than a 3200rpm one with 12.
