Re: What siren has the most horsepower?

HOR had a model 50 but no 50 hp motors, biggest was the 40 hp. Harry retired from his NY company but reopened in Phoenix early 60s and continues till his death.

Re: Arizona Sirens

I have one of the phoenix HOR model 50s, looks new inside, and a FS DC Roundback.
Was lucky to talk to Harrys son (Harry O. Ricci -HOR) and it is quite the story.

Re: HOR Model 50

Just speculation but don't think he ever produced or sold overseas. His sirens were a lower cost than other systems so I imagine he would not have shipped overseas. Just my opinion, would like to know myself.

Many air raids in the UK during WW2, perhaps the inspiration for protecting the states the same way. Harry was an Italian immigrant who came to New York City. Later retired to Phnx where he went b...

Harry O. Ricci WAS the company. Just a guy who did most of the production himself believe it or not. His son Len said he e'en had his own foundry. I consider Sirex pieces of art since they were created by basically one guy. With the The model 50, the only part not made by him was the projection cone...

Re: HOR Model 50

Videos can be deceiving. Close up shot is good but middle of video shows real distance from recording medium. Small sirens were meant to cover areas the big ones missed due to terrain or such, usually somewhere between big ones in the cities for example. This one I figure is sure hanging in there. N...
