Re: ACA screamer found in King of Prussia, PA

The more I look at it the more it does look like a vent.

I won't leave you all empty handed though. There is a fairly undocumented and not previously mapped 3T22 at 17 Burnside Ave, Norristown, PA 19403, which is a ways to the northwest of this bust.

Re: ACA screamer found in King of Prussia, PA

It's hard to tell. It is the correct size roughly, and there is a small electrical box looking object on the bottom of it, just like what an ACA screamer has. Plus it is on top of a fire department building. Catching a hint of it from the other side it may be a vent though. It just looks incredibly ...

ACA screamer found in King of Prussia, PA

I think I may have found an ACA screamer on a former firehouse in King of Prussia Pennsylvania.

I don't believe this siren has been greatly documented as far as I can tell.

Severance, Kansas ACA Allertor

Screenshot_20230923_114329_Maps.jpg While playing around on Google Maps, I found something very interesting in the small town of Severance, KS, which is a ways west of St. Joseph, MO. On the ground next to the city hall is an ACA Allertor. And the most interesting part, is this photo was only taken...

Re: Thief River Falls, MN and Drayton, ND Thunderbolts

I found out just the other day. The FS Thunderbolt 1003 in Crookston MN has been replaced as of September or November 2022. There is a new Federal Signal 2001 siren where the 1003, and the blower pad is gone. Drayton, MN's Thunderbolts are still doing well, I had a visual on the other one a few days...

Grand Forks, ND EOWS 612 Siren

While vacationing in Grand Forks, ND, I managed to find this Federal Signal EOWS 612 siren that is still standing. Grand Forks currently operates a vast system of Federal Signal 2001-130s. From what I can tell, Grand Forks used to have XT22s and Thunderbolts into the late 90s. When the 1997 flood de...

Thief River Falls, MN and Drayton, ND Thunderbolts

So I was finally able to get pictures of a few of the Thunderbolts left in service in my region. Thief River Falls, MN has two Thunderbolts, two 2T22's, a presumably deactivated Sterling, and a handful of 2001-130s (At least that's what I've found so far.) This Thunderbolt is located on the north si...

Here is the paint scheme I am choosing for this siren. I will have some repairs to do on the paint currently, but overall it's nearly finished.

Bell Systems/Wheelock KS-8228-L6 (Restoration Part 1)

20210828_190218.jpg Here is my Wheelock KS-8228-L6 fire alarm after the first phase of restoration. Included in this phase was the restoration of build plates, replacement of rusty and corroded bolts and screws, a replacement of the set screws on the horns, a primer coat of oxide red, and some main...

Re: My first electric fire alarm horn!

20210828_163016.jpg So today I got the first coat of red primer sprayed onto my horn. Overall It's not too bad looking. I have some more work to do towards smoothing out the horns. I also spent half an hour in the hardware store and managed to purchase all new hardware to assemble this unit with. I...
