Re: UK Siren Map

BIG FIND! I found an Air Raid Siren (not sure of its make) in Scalloway! https://www.google.com/maps/@60.138488,-1.2763226,3a,24.6y,64.49h,109.18t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sgpNuvmQ4VW9XX3BM_NGLkw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?entry=ttu There's a small siren beside it, a Carter or Klaxon of some kind too! Nice find!

Re: 1917 Denver Quadruplex siren restoration thread

After months of silence, it’s great to see more progress on this restoration! There’s something really nice about the shape of siren rotors and choppers, and these ones are no exceptions! It’s also nice to see the information plate in such good condition :D

Re: Something in a picture

You can see further down in the image that there is another shape that perfectly lined up with the little guy, it’s probably an over-exposed pole of some description.

Re: UK Siren Map

Hello guys, here is something I have wanted to share for a good while now. This is a Gents of Leicester Type 1472 (Tri-Tone) and it’s located at Kingmoor Park, Carlise. It’s completely inactive with no power to it but before you think about enquiring this please read the rest of this paragraph. A g...

Re: UK Siren Map

Funnily enough, I have just found the location of another siren. The Shipcote Cinema (now known as Shipcote Hall) located in Gateshead, Newcastle, originally had what I believe was a World War II Gents siren installed upon it. The siren has since been removed. Someone I know remembered the siren sou...

Re: UK Siren Map

Hello! This is an update on MOD Longtown's siren system (which still appears not to be on the map, but oh well): So, thanks to user 'Secomak_GP12' (Otherwise known as 'HM SirensAndFireAlarms' on platforms such as YouTube), I have been able to locate one of the site's warning sirens which is visible ...

I got in touch with the Appleby-in-Westmorland Fire Dept. and they told me that despite not testing their flood warning system, the Castle Castings atop the Fire Station itself is still in active use alongside the Klaxon ES! 66551971-4AA7-4D7B-A3F6-F0A9EC5CBB5B.jpeg There has been videos online wit...
