if you don't want to annoy your neighbors just do a growl test. Blocking the intake could potentially damage the siren by overworking the motor and causing it to overheat. While some sirens have dampers to do a "Pulse" signal those sirens motors are usually more capable with the load put ...

sorry for the long wait but I have some images here. I finally got the siren working and it works great! I mounted it to my bumper and used a 12 toggle switch for the controls.

Idaho siren testing dates and times

Does anyone out there know when any sirens will be tested in Idaho? and if so which ones and where will they be testing? the last time they tested was way back in 2016!

yes I will send some later! also the wiring issue has been resolved but I do have some bad rotor imbalance and I'm worried about it breaking the fins (plastic).
