Re: Hales Corners, WI P-50 Alert & Attack

My grandparents lived about a mile away from this siren for much of my life. Never heard it though.

Re: Lowest mounted Siren in US

How close does the projector come to that utility pole the blower is mounted on? From that shot it looks like it would hit it. A Thunderbolt blower can't be that much longer than the horn.

Re: Nigerian 10/12 sirens?

Nigeria was under British colonial rule until 1960—perhaps it's a British siren.

I look forward to hearing that. I am aware San Francisco uses a recording, and I've always found that to be inefficient.

Re: The "Various Sirens" series and others

Bonus (again): a Hormann at UVa...that apparently plays a recording of a 3T22 in hi-lo wail, according to the university's website . Why would an electronic siren use a recording of another siren? Think about it, that's just extremely redundant. You actually think that? It really sounds like the 3T...

I've driven by that 1003 many times going to the Dells. Why is Prairie du Sac buying it? Not for fire signals I'm guessing.

Re: Mod/EOWS on Montserrat

I'm guessing the sirens went in somewhere around 1995...all the research I did seemed to indicate that's when the volcano started becoming a nuisance. A nuisance? That's an understatement. It killed 50+ people, destroyed and damaged hundreds of buildings, rendered half the island uninhabitable, and...

Re: Downtown Nashville Eclipses in Attack

Wow, what a sound! 8-port omnis sure do sound fantastic in attack. And that echo! That would be an incredible spot to be standing during an actual warning.

Also, I never realized how beautiful downtown Nashville is! Looks like a gorgeous day, too.

When did you see that? I thought Whitewater only had STH-10s, and I've seen one near the west edge of campus.
