Re: 1992-1993 "ACA Identity Crisis"

Oooh, another great post! I did know that most of the ACA/ASC sirens underwent several name changes, but these are new to me. At least now I know where "PN-20" comes from, because it always puzzled me why it wasn't simply called the P-20.

Re: UPDATED (SIREN EXISTS): The Whelen WS-2500

Wow, nice! It's not often when the community learns about a new siren. Well, "new" meaning not heard of before. Now we just have to find one in the wild, haha.

Re: New York Statewide Siren Map

Wow dude, nice job! This is the most complete map of NY I've ever seen. But I just remembered, I was supposed to give you some locations that you missed, wasn't I? My bad. I'll do that now. Having lived in NY for most of my life, I know where quite a few hidden gems are. Feel free to use the two map...

Could I have locations for the ones I missed? More or less, if you PM me, you can help, if you want.
I'll get you them as soon as I have some free time. Having a full-time job kinda sucks, haha.

Re: New York Siren Map?

Just noticed this. NY is my old stomping ground, and I'm quite familiar with many locations. I was going to offer some locations from my two NY maps, but it looks like you've got most of them already, haha. I still know of a few that y'all don't have though. If you want them just send me $50 per loc...

Re: What is the ugliest siren?

Hmm, interesting topic. I would have to go with the directional EOWS sirens. They just look so awkward sitting on a pole, especially the taller ones. Reminds me of something a kid would draw when asked to sketch a siren. Like, it's just a huge box with speakers stuck on the front. That said, even th...

Re: About the Fedelcode model 20..

It would definitely be nice to learn more about these sirens. I don't think there are any sources confirming that they're even called the Model 20. The only Model 20 I've seen is the fat Model 7 looking siren in an old ad. (Not sure if anyone here has it.) The dual-headed models seem to come in a wh...

Re: How loud is a Sterling M-10?

I compiled a big list of siren decibel ratings at one point, and I believe I found that the M-10 puts out 120 dB at 100 feet. Not sure how accurate that rating is, but it's what I found. The one you heard could've had something wrong with it too.

Re: Siren stories from trucking (or driving anything really.)

I'm not a trucker, but I have a few siren experiences while driving. Nothing really to write home about though; I've driven past a few while they're sounding, and I may or may not have almost crashed the car after spotting a new siren I've never seen before...

Re: How many sirens has H.O.R produced?

Well technically they did make more than three sirens. For one, there are at least three different sizes of the Siro-Drone: the tiny 2HP version, which I believe is known as the Type 92, and the larger 5HP version, likewise known as the Type 95. I know there's also a 10HP version, but I've never see...
