Re: Model A Maintenance

One problem could be that those are not factory-set screws holding the chopper on the shaft. The set screws should have allen screw cutouts, not screw driver cutouts.

Simplex Time Recorder 624-181 Questions

Hello all, I have recently acquired a Simplex siren, model 624-181 (Federal 1st gen model A). My questions are about when these sirens were made and the differences between the Federal Signal, Farday, and Benjamin Co. versions. I would also like to know if any of the different company versions are r...

Re: Model D Help

It's fairly simple. First, you want to remove the set screws which hold the chopper to the motor shaft. Next, you are going to want to tap the chopper off the shaft using a tap and a hammer. Put the tap on the shaft and tap on the tapper slowly. Also, try to use some oil on the shaft so the chopper...

Re: Did Petaluma, CA have a Chrysler?

Sadly no, this is not a Chrysler mount. Just an ordinary old water tower. There are some historic pictures of this building if you do a google search though.

Re: Model A found in Chicago

I am not so sure this used to be a fire department. Can`t find any photos of it and the building seems way too large to be a fire department. But I guess that it could have been at one time.
