Can we lock and / or delete this? I have no idea what I’m talking about and just realized that.
No, you get to live with it.

Yes, I am being difficult.

Re: Model 3 Activation Problems

Again, just what it the heck are you talking about? He specifically said FC CONTROLLER. Do you KNOW what an FC controller even is? What the function buttons are or where they are located? It would be the controller in the siren that does the decoding and controlling of the siren contactor. Here's th...

Re: Model 3 Activation Problems

The FC that controls the siren experienced a minor glitch while I was trying to activate it, resulting in the processor freezing up and not responding whenever any of the programmed function buttons were depressed. As quoted from his description in the post. NO WHERE does it mention the RADIO. He m...

Re: Model 3 Activation Problems

OK, I just watched the video you are talking about. That delay was Sirens being individually activated and not wildcarded, OR and pay attention here, The Whelen commands were sent first and the Federal codes (TWO DIFFERENT FORMATS) were sent second. Without a scanner to hear the activation codes bei...

Re: Model 3 Activation Problems

I refute my earlier claim of the radio freezing and not passing the information to the controller. In this video, ( [url]https://youtu.be/EhLfZfIvbh8[url] ), the uploader states that his radio froze up, causing the data to not be passed to the siren controller. That is what makes the most sense her...

Re: Model 3 Activation Problems

You keep saying radio problem.. which again is TOTALLT incorrect. The radio JUST receives the signal off the air and sends it to the controller. There is NO possibility of delay in the RADIO. It's not an active part of the activation, it's just a pass through. There is NO WAY of the RADIO it self ca...

Re: Advice For Newer Enthusiasts?

Biggest single piece of advice is remember that no matter how much interest in sirens you may have, others probably will not. Meaning that if you happen to see someone working on sirens, don't be bothersome to them. If you ask a question or two, that's typically ok. But don't try having long winded ...

Re: Model 3 Activation Problems

OK, wait a minute.. according to your post the siren didn't activate until 4 minutes AFTER the tones were dropped to activate the siren. That's not even possible. If the controller (assuming its an Federal but even if it's a VA2000 Whelen) is going to start the 3 minute timer as soon as the tones dr...

Re: My Experiences - Overhead Crane Sirens

You are stuck at the tip of a double edged sword. That being any electronic siren will have magnets in the speakers that will draw grinding dust. And the mechanical with motors will suffer from the grit in the air from grinding. My advise would be to continue with mechanical sirens but put explosion...

Re: Is it possible to run a Federal STL-10 or STH-10 on 120V

You SURE about that? An STH/L-10 is fused at 50 amp at 240 volts. So the the current draw from the same load and half the voltage would be half the current. So 25 amps. Mind you a 15 amp breaker which is typical for a run of the mill outlet would pop almost immediately. But a 20 amp or 30 amp break...
