Re: List of very rare sirens

Current in production sirens are NOT what we’re here to talk about. It was never specified what type the creator wanted- there are sirens still in production on that list. Besides, this thread wasn't created by you. Sorry to derail Yeah, the original post did include sirens that are still in produc...

Re: 4j's Maps V2

Hi 4j25, Baltimore Sirens AKA 3T22_Fan1000. I live in the maryland area and you are missing some locations on the MD siren map so is it okay if I can help? There's a new map being created. I noticed on the old Maryland map that southern Washington and Frederick Counties is missing. Some of the sire...

Re: 10V2T called a "World War II air raid siren" in news article. Am I wildly misinformed or is that incorrect?

In a broad technicality, the 10V2T is literally an M-10 on its side with horns. But no. The 10V2T was itself not made in WWII. A lot of news articles overstate age. Many of the people giving reporters info and reporters themselves aren’t enthusiasts and don’t know better. Thanks for the affirmation.

This article claims that it originated as a WWII-era siren. It certainly looks ...

Re: I discovered an obscure Cold War C.D. siren system in West Virginia! Also, a strange Monongalia Whelen??

Moderators, can this thread be moved into the new "Community Systems" subforum? While I made the original post almost a year ago, I never finished my research into Clarksburg and I consider this an open topic that I still want to explore. (I haven't even found any official documentation ab...

Re: Lowest mounted Siren in US

Well then, perhaps it was meant not to project as far because it was too loud or something along the lines of that. For fire sirens they get a lot of noise complaints. I'd say the volume of noise complaints should be higher if the top row of horns is mounted ear level... edit: volume... no pun inte...

Re: American Sirens In Australia

I hate to say it but these photos aren't evidence of anything at all. The bits of yellow are unshapely blobs that could easily not even be sirens. I mean, that's been stated already. But then why are these photos even still being used? Is there any other evidence available? Because this ain't it.

The thunderbolts in Australia thing is completely false I can comfortably say. I have a photo of the supposed siren, and to me it looks nothing like one but instead appears to be little more than a light on a crooked pole.
Haha, now I want to see the picture just to see how ridiculous it looks.

Since we're using siren icons and this is a pretty high-profile map, I hope it's alright if I air a small grievance, and hopefully it will be taken as constructive feedback... Please, for the love of all things lovely, increase the brightness and saturation of the icons that you use! I am sick of s...
