Re: Hi, I'm the owner of the 2nd known Cosgrave/Codwell

This is one interesting siren. I wonder if Jerome would be willing to part with theirs? The only thing that needs to be replaced on Jerome's siren for sure are the controls and relay since they are burnt up. I almost wonder if that siren would work with new contactors and relays. Jerome's appears to...

Re: STH-10 long wind-up

It depends on what the siren is wired for. A 240V single phase version will wind up slow compared to a 3 phase 240v or 480 volt 3 phase model. A 3 phase 240v model will wind up faster than the single phase counterpart. 3 phase motors don't have brushes compared to the single phase motors. There are ...

Looks like a Firex 428. They were installed in my older house.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

On Street View for 8885 Mayrow Drive in Symmes Township Ohio, there is a 2001 SRN with ASC boxes and a Compulert box.

I thought these were supposed to have Federal boxes? Wasn't the upgrade supposed to be canceled due to not meeting UL? It seems very strange to have ASC boxes on a 2001.

Here's a Federal signal Thunderbolt 1000T in Warren County, Ohio Near Waynesville. This was refurbished by Federal Field Services, arguably one of the worst refurbishments I have ever seen.

The Thunderbeam is gone. I'm not sure on the status of the STH-10 next to Old Lahaina Luau.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

I'm not surprised about the TunnelBolt. Maybe they decided to reverse it as the community thought it was too loud? I know that particular one has been there since 1975-1977 as that was when Hamilton got their Thunderbolts. Massie Township's 1000T at the spillway party supply near Harveysburg still h...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

I'm not sure if Mr. Werden was notified of this yet, but the blower on the Federal Thunderbolt 1000T in Harveysburg was not working as of March. Someone got a video of this siren in action during the monthly test of March. The chopper seems fine, but the blower motor is presumably done for. https://...

Re: Half-replaced FS EOWS 612 in Hawaii

If this is the one located in Lahaina, the rotator was busted. Fixing the rotator would be cheaper than a new siren, but I'm guessing the siren was on its last legs anyway.

It was running on a newer Federal controller as of 2019 when I went down there to visit.
