Re: ATI sirens really are crap!

Now i hate to bump this. But looking at the ATI site around 2017-2018. I came across this siren name the OPHSS or something like that. The picture looked like a Photoshop of a Federal Signal Modulator with ati controllers. I did some digging and at first thought this to be some odd figment of my im...

Re: STH-10 help!!!!!!!

Best bet is either finding a different siren for salvaging parts, or sending it to a motor shop to get fixed. I've messaged West Shore Services for a motor in the past for my STL-10 (uses same motor as STH-10), however they are still reinstalling STH-10's for communities that can't afford new sirens...

Re: STL-10 brush question

I ended up getting the correct dimensions and brushes for my siren. When I get a chance I'll post the dimensions on this thread.

Re: Acquired a Screamer

Hope you enjoy the screamer Archon. It will definitely have a better life with you rather than in pieces in my basement.

Re: Phase Converter/ Motor Question

I feel that I should note that I went through with running the phase converter and everything went fine. I knew that this generator wouldn't be able to provide the startup amps required, so I instead used the test button on my AR timer in short pulses in order to slowly spin the siren up. I was able...

Re: Largest Siren Systems (Currently)

Oakland County, Michigan: 256

A few years back I was talking to the sales rep at WSS and I believe he said that Oakland County either had 254 or 256. If I recall correctly, he said the system consists of purely 2001 series sirens.
This was in 2014, so it is likely that they have more sirens now.

Re: Phase Converter/ Motor Question

I was referring to the phase converter motor. The generator has running 6700 watts and startup 8600 watts. The generator also has a breaker on every outlet, thus I believe that should prevent any damage to the generator. The motor for my phase converter is a 15 hp, 220v at 40 amps full load (I will ...

Phase Converter/ Motor Question

I'm building a phase converter for a siren I have and I just have a simple (I think) question. The motor I have is 240v 37 amp. I have a 240v 30 amp generator. If I run a motor at its rated voltage but not is rated amperage how will it affect the motor. My concern is motor damage. Thanks for any help!

Welp another system bites the dust due to hacking. They're not just deactivating the sirens but they're actually going to remove the sirens and depend on phones and radios. :(

STL-10 Siren Help

I currently own a single phase STL-10, however the motor is completely rusted and dead. It's beyond repair, and when I contacted west shore for help they couldn't give me any. I'm not asking if anyone has a motor, but rather does anyone know of a single phase motor that is being sold today that woul...
