Re: Siren removal from pole

Hi Bryan. I work on boom lifts for a living, and I will say a siren of that size would ride down with you just fine in even a towable manlift, as long as you are not too hefty yourself. Just consult with the rental company on capacity for the specific lift they have available. That 2v can't be much ...

Re: Restoring one of Milwaukee's Gasoline Mobil Directos!

Thank you Mr. Penetrator. Very informative. I would say it's right on the mark for fuel consumption with some seat of the pants calculations. But, in the end, it's all about the Smiles per Gal. In that case it's pretty high on consumption there

How long dues one tank of fuel last?
Not sure. I probably have used a half gallon for the past few times I've run it. The tank holds 5, I've got about 2 gals in it right now. 110 octane isn't cheap, that's for sure

Re: Restoring one of Milwaukee's Gasoline Mobil Directos!

Where will you get the leaded fuel from? I would suggest an airport. No need for it, and plus that stuff was banned a long time ago. False. Both leaded race fuels and 100LL aviation fuel are still widely available, but not for street/taxable usage. One could run regular unleaded with a lead substit...

Re: ASC job questions?

Perhaps get a personal introduction from Tom, Josh, or Connor at SWS, that would be even better. I know Josh a little and we've met before, though I haven't talked to him about getting a job at SWS, thank you for giving me this idea, I haven't thought about that yet. Perhaps a job at SWS is a possi...

Re: Restoring one of Milwaukee's Gasoline Mobil Directos!

Well, I'm proud to announce this project is 100% mechanically complete! I did a full rotation/full speed test and recorded it on YouTube. Had some issues with the throttle relay not holding. Will be doing some more troubleshooting to figure out what is going on there. Now all that is left is to pain...

Congrats on the new addition to the family Matt! Amazing how we have all grown up. I now am married and have three daughters myself.

Great find on the 2T. I can imagine the excitement to see a childhood icon such as this. I've been tempted to get a drone to make finding hard-to-reach sirens easier

Re: Restoring one of Milwaukee's Gasoline Mobil Directos!

After proving the basic concept of the throttle solenoid, I have begun the final installation of the components to make the throttle control completely wireless. The main problem was finding a good place to place both the solenoid and control box. After playing around with the components, I finally ...
