Re: Thunderbolt 1003A help and pictures.

But it doesn't explain the only two hot wires and a neutral. I've never seen something like that and neither has anyone who has helped me work on it.
Just because they are white, black and black doesn't mean they are two hots and a neutral. That's just what wire they used when they hooked it up.

Re: Thunderbolt 1003A help and pictures.

I didn't cut them. I guess the hack that got hold of the RCM did that then? In the one picture the blue and black are sticking out of the solenoid housing cut at an angle. That's why I mentioned it. Can I see rotator the wires? If there's only two my 208-240 hunch may be right after all. I'm not an...

Re: Thunderbolt 1003A help and pictures.

Also as a side note it's wired for 480V 3 Phase. I have some pi coming tomorrow of the progress.
What's wired for 480v? The coils on the original starers are 240V.
Why did you cut the solenoid wires? You could have just disconnected them...

Re: Thunderbolt Question

Today a typical siren setup for a locality costs roughly $20,000 per siren. During the Cold War most sirens were purchased via Civil Defense funds. They weren't paid for completely with civil defense funds they were paid for with "matching funds". CD paid for half. The Feb 1, 1979 Federal...

Re: Thunderbolt 1003A help and pictures.

Your transformer should be ok.
It looks like only those 3 wires were
Disconnected. I would be VERY surprised if there is something wrong with it.

Re: Federal Signal Model 5AT Project Question

I haven't figured out why people say to pull the key out.
Just deal with pulling the rotor. The key will stay in the shaft or come out with the rotor.
You won't be able to get the key out by itself. I have never tried to pull a key by itself before pulling a rotor or bearing etc.

Re: Thunderbolt 1003A help and pictures.

I have 4 or 5 of those rotator driven gears. They are new old stock parts that were never used. If you want one let me know. I'll let one go for cheap. PM me if you are interested. If you need the drive gear I'll include that with the big gear. As for age. From the looks of the RCM I'd guesstimate e...

Re: Need help on my AF timer

Timers don't output any power.
They are only timed switches.
