Seminole County

Hey guys. Please do not write letters to the county pushing for sirens or the use of certain siren models. It will only do more harm than good. The county has a siren task force set up that had its first meeting last Thursday and will continue to have meetings on Thursdays until March 8. I got to pa...

I, in my forever quest to dominate the state of Florida, went to his drag racing museum up near Ocala in search of the siren as I was told before that it was either there or at his house....which I believe his house is on the museum grounds also...but I could not find it there and nobody working the...

Newest Siren

Hey thought I'd share this with you all. I have been working with the city of Ft. Lauderdale and Broward County on seeing what was going to happen with the city's old air raid siren that got transferred into county property when the county turned an old Burdines department store into the county gove...

Sanding down the brushes seems kind of odd to me. First off, I am guessing you want to shorten them as they protrude too far out past the holders and will not stay in place when you are trying to reassemble the siren. Cause you are looking at the chopper unit and when trying to stick it back onto th...

Hey that paint job looks great. And you know more time was put in when there is more than one color and when the fasteners are their original color, not painted over from one big swath of paint. That'll surely help it last a lot longer, even out in the elements.

The pulley ratio could simply be to balance out the lower RPM of the motor.

When I chopped my finger, my fingers were not near the ports at the time. I was spinning a Sentry 10V by hand and my finger got caught in one of the impeller vanes which drew it to the port. The rotor came to a sharp halt on my finger and I had to spin it backwards to release my finger as it had pen...

Hey Dan, cool video there. It's nice to see that the siren's bearings are in great shape still and that it is balanced very well. It worked great for you, but just a note to others if the drill thing is tried- make sure you either use a ratchet-type connector or a drill that will allow for free spin...
