Nice find! That should be a fun project. Any motor in mind for it?
A period correct 3 ph 5hp motor was donated by a fellow enthusiast who does not use the internet.

Re: 1917 Denver Quadruplex siren restoration thread

Update, got the bearing caps off, what do ya know, sleeve bearings like a small block chevy 🤣. Everything appears to be in good shape with the exception of the rear rotor. I was actually able to get it spinning, though with the damage to the rear rotor hub it definitely rubs. Next step will be remov...

Re: A Maryland Mystery

So I looked up both addresses from the pictures on google maps and looked through street view to find that the timeline didn't show those sirens throughout all views. Not to mention that those two were not even 2 miles away from each other. So just to ask, when do you think those got removed? 1st b...

With a little help from my wife, the Denver Quadruplex siren I had shipped to my employer in Michigan was loaded on a trailer and brought home this past weekend. And so begins the long awaited restoration of an ancient patriarch. Denver Siren Builder: Dillon-Box Iron Works Model: 5HP Quadruplex Seri...

Don’t mean to Bump, but they Recently put an FC on the siren now, now it’s tested the First Wednesday at either 10AM or 11AM
Bumps are always welcome when they involve a positive status update about a siren believed to be dead. 8-)

Re: Los Angeles fire station number 60

First of all, it's "siren", not "cyrin". Second, you're actually seeing the only set of ports. For some reason, a large number of these "flattened bird house" style Federal Signals had the core (the siren inside the housing) flipped upside down. I believe this was done ...

Muncie had a Denver!?
Yes, it was located at the Whitley Malleable Castings Co. Research shows the Whitley family was very cult-like, even going as far as creating it's own little family community on the outskirts of Muncie.
