There is a bit of confusion regarding Denver Sirens and model identification. I have compiled several photos of each presently known model to date, starting smallest to largest. Each photo has an in-depth description, but I will include them below aswell. A huge thank you to Adam and Derek for some ...

Use Google/Bing Maps, and look at fire/police departments, water towers, and around refineries and nuclear plants. You should be able to find quite a lot.

Re: Quebec Siren Map

I decided to map out as much of Quebec as I could, and I think this is the most complete map of Quebec thus far. Quebec sure has some oddities, such as unique "Canadian" Model 5s with unique housings, some weird Sterling-like sirens that nobody can identify, and even a H.O.R. https://www....

Re: Hi, I'm the owner of the 2nd known Cosgrave/Codwell

This is actually the third to have been photographed as far as I know, the second was in Parkersburg, PA and is no longer there, pictured below. If I have decoded the Serial numbers correctly, Jerome AZ is Series 100, S/N 105. I believe this decodes to Series 1 #5. But I could be wrong. I am curious...

Re: Honking the Sumburgh Head Lighthouse Foghorn

Steam and Pneumatic siren horns of this type date back to around 1859. It was the evolution of these devices that led to the sirens we know today. There are actually quite a few fog horns of this type still in regular service, viewable via YouTube. Thank you for sharing this! it is always a treat to...

Again, sorry for the bump. Give me a slap in the face if you need to.
Word of advice: don’t bump threads if you know you’re going to get told off… it just lowers your karma :?
Plus, stop spam posting…
Continuational threads like this are typically fine to bump. Take a breath.
