Re: ASC I-Force 1600 (Dual Tone) - Waikiki 2/1/2023

And a siren that new was just thrown out? Yup, as far as I'm aware they all went straight in the bin. The Dillingham East Gate I-Force faired the worst, dare I say worse than some of the mechanical legacy sirens. It only lasted about 10 years, and looked like an absolute rust bucket due to the corr...

Re: ASC I-Force 1600 (Dual Tone) - Waikiki 2/1/2023

What happened to the other IForce? Cool that they are still using a SiraTone. All the other I-Force’s were replaced with MOD6024B’s except for this one, due to it being in great condition still. The other I-Force’s solar panels had collapsed and the mounting hardware for them was not taking kindly ...

ASC I-Force 1600 (Dual Tone) - Waikiki 2/1/2023

Located at Ala Wai Boat Harbor in Waikiki, this is the only active ASC I-Force 1600 left in the entire state of Hawai'i. It's been upgraded with UltraVoice controls, and is dual tone. It replaced a yellow EOWS 612 that was still on it's original SiraTone controls at the time of removal.

Re: Federal Signal “MOD3024H”

Funny you mention this, because I was going to say something about it in your 1212 topic, but didn't bother because it wasn't relevant. Federal Signal started building these in 2002 I think? Not 100% sure, it's been a while since I looked at it. Hawaii was a pretty big customer for them, almost exc...

Federal Signal “MOD3024H”

Over the past few years, I’ve been hearing mentions of a Modulator “3024H”, essentially a high powered version of the good old MOD3012. Several siren enthusiast here in Hawai’i have been labeling certain MOD3012’s around the islands as “MOD3024’s”. For a while I assumed this was simply a typo, &...

Re: Federal Signal EOWS 1212 - 1 minute alert

It's low tone dominant because only 4 of the speakers is running the high tone and the other 8 are running the low tone. The UltraVoice can't spread out the tone because of it's design. Each amp is mono 400W. The SiraTone amps were mono 200W, allowing an even 3/3 split. Mahalo for the info Tyler, t...

Federal Signal EOWS 1212 - 1 minute alert

Here's a monthly test of the last EOWS 1212 on O'ahu! This siren is located on the east side of O'ahu at He'eia neighborhood park, in my hometown city of Kaneohe. It was upgraded with an UltraVoice many years ago, and is set to dual tone. This particular unit has a very dominant low tone (850hz). It...

Thunderbolt 1000BT monthly test

This is one of only two active Thunderbolt 1000T's left in Hawai'i. It's a single phase model, assumed to be on chopper level 4. It's been fitted with a satellite activation antenna & modem. This siren is located at Kalakaua District Park in Kalihi. The other active Thunderbolt on O'ahu is locat...

Re: Oddball EOWS 612

Interesting… thanks for the responses guys. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures from as far back as ‘06, but I have never seen the siren head change direction in my 24 years of life on O’ahu, leading me to believe they intentionally disconnected the rotator. There is nothing but mountains & ...

Oddball EOWS 612

This is a bit of a strange one… Located at the very back of Moanalua Valley Neighborhood Park, this EOWS 612 is positioned to fire directly down the valley. As a result of this, the rotator was intentionally left disconnected… or was it? This siren also has a solar panel, mounted directly atop the h...
