Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

For some reason they only did 1 cycle I'm pretty sure. The heads of the analog WPS-4004's moved from where they were last Wednesday and they weren't in the 12 o'clock position, so they did go off, just not the normal amount of time.

Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

I know of at least 4 analog WPS-4004's in my area. The one at West Chester Golf Maintenance has one (775 hz), Canal Winchester Railroad Station has one (490 hz), Reynoldsburg Ohio Fire Academy (490 hz which used to have a high cutoff pitch), and another analog by the Reynoldsburg Elementary School (...

Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

I'm pretty sure the controller on the McCord Park (Worthington) 3016 somehow ended up on the McCoy Park 4004, considering they both peak at 775 hz and end at 320 hz, which is quite a bit different than the Minerva Park 3016, which ends at 310 hz. As for the digital that was on the McCoy Park 4004, i...

Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

Quite a few of a Franklin County's sirens have been moved over the past few years, I'm not sure why, but is is something I've been noticing. Also can we confirm that none of the Whelen WPS-3000's in the Franklin County system are analog anymore? I feel like all of the analog ESC-864's have been dump...

Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

Well, I figured it's been a while since I've posted on the topic, but I visited the WPS-4004 at the Canal Winchester Golf Course Maintenance and I nearly got stung by a bunch of yellowjackets. They also looked to be messing with the siren also. Link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJj4...

Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

Nope. It is definitely an ESC-2020, the reason why they play at 560 hz is because of a glitch. ESC-2030's do also play at 560 hz, but have a shorter wind down duration, and they do not lag on the wind down. Also, the 530 hz pitch was part of the ESC-2020, as it also glitched on the wind down, and th...

Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

The main ESC-2020's you'll see in Franklin county are on WPS-4004's at 435 hz. Fairfield County's are on (possibly) all of their WPS-3000's at 560 hz, but at that setting they lag twice on the windown

Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

I've heard many ESC-2030s fail to pick up cancellation tones before, so I wouldn't be too surprised. Franklin County skipped their test again today, due to an "ongoing investigation". Not sure if this means FC will switch their frequency or activation method or what, but hopefully they wi...

Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

Soooo, a little glitch just happened. The Slate Ridge Drive Whelen WPS-3000 (Ex Perry Nuclear) did a full 3 minutes after the cancellation tones were sent. This happened in Fairfield County at 12:00 - 12:03. Also someone was speaking over the Fairfield county siren frequency during the polling tones...

Re: Franklin County, Ohio Siren Discussion

Welp I went to try and record the Lithopolis, OH Federal Signal Model 2 before it got replaced... and it failed. I think the old bird is done. I went to check the timer with my friend (who is also going to own the siren after it gets replaced) and we noticed it was taken out of the case. I am pretty...
