Re: Reverse wired Thunderbolts?

"Reverse Wired" in this case means that the blower was wired wrong. Blowers are only supposed to spin one way and if wired in reverse, they use the horn as the air intake. The way you can very easily tell is that the siren sounds extremely high pitched and sometimes quiet. The wind up can ...

Re: Yamaha Music Sirens

it says "the firm hopes to develop export trade." if "the firm" refers to YAMAHA, then the music sirens haven't been shipped yet. even the title says that they're on Japanese factories. this is most likely a plan that the city had at one point but never was able to do it. If anyo...

Re: Is "Test" Actually a option on siren control panels?

It depends on the panel. On older Federal signal controllers like the AR/AF and PGA, they had a button that would activate the siren as long as the button was depressed. There is a test button on the SC controller but I don't know how it works.

Re: Summit/Yellville, AR Screamer S2

I think it's owned by the fire department below it and it calls the firefighters to the station if a fire is reported. for if it's active? I have no idea.

Re: STH-10 long wind-up

An STH-10 is NOT a model L, The windup will be long. The model 5 seems to have pretty close to the same windup to me. STH-10's are very well known for their extremely long wind up and wind down. This is just normal for these sirens. Sure, they might take a little longer than a Model 2 or a Thunderbo...

Re: Yamaha Music Sirens

slightly big bbump Very nice find for the only known recording of this siren. That song is home on the range if anyone was wondering. What makes you say that? If there's more recordings then I don't know about them. If it's about the song then here's a link to a square wave synth I made on the onli...

Re: Is there such thing as an ATI HPSS-8?

Just by looking at the mount, I think this is an ATI. The mount for an E-Class appears much more sturdy than an ATI having a "truss" compared to the straight bars on ATI sirens not to mention that the bars are much thicker on an ASC siren compared to this one. As for if they exist, yes but...
