And that Whelen has one heck of a strong tower to be sitting on. that things gona be standing for a while.
Best to wire when under construction, but it shouldn't be difficult now, either.
I can't belive they couldn't find higher places to mount those speaker sirens. No buildings? No higher terrain?
They aren't that heavy, are they?
Maybe they will later add to those towers - they are very strong and can handle more height. (pronounced "hite" not "high-th")

Wow, I'll have to check that out sometime. The plant has just replaced all of its Thunderbolts with Whelens.

That thing is pretty low to bad its not a bolt or somthing. I was going to work this morning driving through downtown KC and up on a hill there is some really nice lofts and theres a 2001 up on a hill next to these lofts. I would say its 500 feet from the windows. I'll have to go check it out tomorrow and get some pics so ya guys dont belive me

It is definitely pushing it. How is that thing supposed to get the coverage out when it's that low? Sure does give an idea of how big they are since you'd be right next to it.

Not the lowest, but WAY too low for a huge Whelen like that--heck, any omnidirectional siren that is so loud.

Not the lowest, but again, pretty low for a big Whelen.

Pictures of that siren (including one in that gallery) have been floating around here for some time (even earlier in this thread). I think the other angles give an even better perspective of how absurdly low that thing is.

Out of liability concerns, I am surprised Whelen (or anyone) allows such a low mounting.
I can foresee someone suing for excessive sound level on their ears or a child's or infant's ears.
