Sat Feb 24, 2007 12:14 am

On the website for American Signal it shows they updated the db@100 ft. they have 129 db@100 average, and 130.9@100 ft peak.? did they modify the motor for this siren?

Hmm...the 2001 goes up to 130db and now the T-128 does too? American Signal a lil' jealous?

They probably have better testing facilities now, and they updated the page with the new measurements.

I bet if Whelen upgraded their test facility the Vortex and WPS 4004 would go from 129dB to 130 or 131 dB. On a side note it may not be long until Whelen and Sentry jump on the band wagon and start to make higher decible sirens.

I'd want a super-powerful Vortex for Windsor.
Anyway, my perception of the T-128 will be changed pretty well now. All of the changing figures in measurement of the same models are due to better testing-environments and testing equipment.

I like the fact that American Signal doesnt promise a certain decibal all the time...the give an average figure and above average figure and also they take in account the range is affected by hilly lanscapes versus flat, which they include on their product form. That is a sign of quality.
