There is a joking reference to the T-135s in Kenosha County, Wisconsin scaring away the tornadoes, causing them to do a split going north and/or south. Kenosha County has not seen a tornado since an F-0 in August 2001, but has not had a tornado warning issued since 1997.holler wrote:Come to think about it, they probably quit making the P-50 because it overturned too many mobile homes on test day.
Anything that noisy could scare away a tornado.
Around here there is plenty of that. Buildings that are above three stories are rare. Plus we live on the plains (not Post but most towns around here are on the plains).Jim_Ferer wrote:The "one instead of four" coverage thing is a bit optimistic, I think. It's probably true if there are no buildings, hills, woods or obstructions around. In other words, flat, unobstructed terrain. That doesn't happen very much.
