Alertronic-5000?

Fri Mar 06, 2015 2:17 am

While looking over some old siren photos today I came across an old ASC/ACA add and came across a strange siren I had never heard of before, the Alertronic-5000. Is this siren rare, and if it is how rare is it, like are we talking Model 20 and EOWS-812 rare? Does anyone have any idea where some of these sirens are located? Or if they even still exist. Sorry for the lack of picture.

Its rarer than the EOWS-812, infact, I don't even know if one was commercially sold, yet alone where. There was a old thread started up a few years ago about it, but he never found where it was. It was stopped really quickly due to flaws in the design (Wind resistance, and other things) and its rare alright.

There are videos of the 4000, but none of the 5000 which is the rare one.

There was one confirmed Alertronic 5000 in the US. It was removed from service, sadly.

There's an Alertronic 8000 at the old city hall. If there's a 5000 in there, I'd love to know.

Not my video, but here's a Whelen 2000R/400R in St.Louis County, Mo if anyone was wondering if there was a video of one... Is it really one of the rarest sirens in the world?
