Thunderbolt 1000AT - Thomaston, GA

I decided to go up to Upson County with my mom to record another one their Thunderbolts, this time one with a 4M blower. This one is located at Ben Hill Road & Moores Crossing Road. There are two recordings, one up close and one taken by the Red River about 7/10 mile north. In the up close recording at the end of the test the camera manages to pick up one of the nearby 2001s, but in person all I could hear was the Vortex R4 about 2.5 miles west and the 1000A in The Rock from a pretty good 3.75 miles away. In the distance recording you can hear the 1000 a bit better. They will be retesting the system tomorrow to confirm all of the sirens ran, but I won't be able to make it. And if you were wondering, yes it's loud as crap.

In terms of loudness... How would this and the rocks bolt compare to the whelens? Like the one you heard from 10 mi?

The distant recording...THAT is what a Thunderbolt is supposed to sound like. Man, that's spine tingling..lol
