Hello! I happened to spot this siren on top of the old Key Bank in Clyde, NY, and was curious if anyone could identify it. It almost looks like a FS model 500 DH-TT, but not quite. It has an eyebolt in the middle of it where it was mounted, and an antenna. Could be leftover from the Cold War, and/or might've been used to fire calls at one point. I apologize for the poor quality photos, didn't have a proper camera on hand. Thank you.
i think its a very strange vent.
It actually might be a 500-DHTT. I've checked Google Streetview a few times and it looks like there's a chopper and it also seems that it has rotated (Unless it has a broken rotator and the wind is causing it to move or the position where the photo was taken on Streetview). But I'm pretty sure it actually might be a 500.

THe proportions just look wrong to me. Another thing is I don't see the rotator tube anywhere and the dishes don't look like refined horns at all.

Looks to be in pretty rough shape. Wouldn't be surprised if the horns are rotted/beat to hell

Judging by the shape of the flared horn if it's ever a refined thing, this is no 500-DHTT. A Sterling Little Giant is also no, the pictured siren seems way bigger than that and the horn is shorter.

Is that a kind of an onmidirectional Whelen, ACA or just a lamp post?

I don't see any controls so its probably a lamp post.

Could be, but since the 'object' is in the ghost town of Nothing, AZ, it could be a siren, but with controls stripped away.

I found this siren in Moorefield, West Virginia. It has rectangular horns and what looks like the conical top of a Model 5/7.

Yeah, I think it’s just a customized Model 5.

Thanks and interesting. Nearby Slanesville, WV has a FS STH-10 with a Model 5/7 cone hood covering the motor.
