jaars had a former model 5/7 on the hangar and an sth/l10 on the vfd right across the street. the 5/7 was used as a tornado siren and the sth/l10 was a fire siren. imagine the confusion that could result... the sth/l10 was red. the 5/7 was grey. the mount remains along with where the timer was mounted. timer is removed

Good find! Do you know when the sirens were removed? The Jaars station is a Waxaw VFD substation I believe.

my dad works there and ive been in the attic of the hangar. the 5/7 was mounted on a pole through the roof. when they redid the roof they yanked it. i have no clue where it went. the roof was redone in 2018 i believe. i have no info on the sth/l10

I only know it exists because we (my family) drove by it on the way to the Tapoco lodge - it's certainly not somewhere I'd look for a siren LOL.

i went to jaars yesterday. the sth/l10 was roof mounted on a pole. near the back of the building. the mount is still there
