Pretty cool video! I like how it is snowing, Shawnee County dosn't test if there is even 1 cloud in the sky. Why didn't you put this on youtube?

My county will test even if there is a thunderstorm, dark clouds ext.... the ONLY time they wont is if there is a watch or a warning near us.

For some reason, Shawnee County will not test for a number of reasons. Overcast, Severe Weather Threat, Watch/Warning, Extreme Cold, Icy Conditions or a Holiday. Ive been wanting to record one of Topeka's Thunderbeams but it has been overcast the past couple of Mondays and this coming Monday doesn't look too promising either..
Johnson County dosn't even test in December or January, and they have all of those same "We won't test if" rules as Shawnee County.

Simple: Avoids the potential for confusion.
Let's face it, people are stupid and if you test the entire siren system with adverse weather conditions, there is bound to be some people questioning whether the sirens are testing or the sh!t is about to hit the fan and to seek cover.

According to the EM, the sirens would also sound the attack signal if there was to be some sort of Terrorist attack or national emergency. I bet people wouldn't even know what was going on if they sounded that signal.

Nice vid. I've caught a glimpse of that one on my way to work a couple of times, but it gets hidden by trees. the one just south of Vernier is more visible from the freeway. Wonder what the person who has that one in their backyard thinks of it?

Now hearing the T-Bolt then the Whelen, The T-Bolt sounds way better than the whelen. I guess for whelen, electronically thats the best they could do?
