Norfork, AR Federal Signal model 5/7

Mon Oct 30, 2023 11:26 pm

I saw this siren just while me and my dad were visiting Norfork, AR. I never knew this was here and it isnt on any siren map. Can anyone tell me what this siren specifically is. Is it a model 5 or 7 or something else? And if you could give some information about it that would be good too. https://maps.app.goo.gl/zByAF6HAmd1PhPdM7?g_st=ic
I don’t have any real sirens, but I will one day. But for now, I just enjoy making homemade sirens.

That's a Federal Signal C3 1/2. Could be 5 or 7.5HP (Model 5 or Model 7) but it's impossible to know without looking at the tag.

I will try to get in touch with whoever owns it. Probably the local VFD. Thanks.

Man, that is some ANCIENT streetview! I'm sure it is owned by the local VFD, that almost looks like an old station it's next to. If you can't look at the serial tag, the other good way to guess if it's a 5 or 7 would be by the speed of the windup (7s are faster).

I know someone that used to work for the VFD but idk if they know anything about it. I might ask them about it to start somewhere.

Was confirmed a Model 7. I managed to get better pictures of it.
