Mystery Fire Truck Siren

Thu Apr 04, 2024 8:15 pm

I found this in some fire truck pictures (Credit to Abdul Saboor Khan)

It looks like a Federal Model 76 but I might be wrong. Any ideas?

I'm a siren enthusiast but I also collect electric fans. I’m working on a map for sirens in NE and hope to post it here someday

Now I have 8 small sirens, and 58 electric fans :D :D

That siren appears to be a Federal Signal Model 77L. A quite rare siren. But the fins on the side look more like the ones from a Model 78. The siren could have been a little modded at some point due to those different fins. The Model 78 is shaped a little differently than a 77L.

Here is a Model 78:

I don’t have any real sirens, but I will one day. But for now, I just enjoy making homemade sirens.
