Alertronic Video

Tue Aug 21, 2007 11:49 pm

Here's a video from Tennessee with what sounds like an ACA/ASC Alertronic doing alert then voice for a tornado warning. This may actually be in Clarksville, TN since they have a system of like 13 Alertronics installed several years ago.

Allright, now we have videos of both the rotating and omni-directional Alertronics. Both of which are very rare electronic sirens in existence. :D

Yes a rare siren indeed. Tullahoma had 5 of the Alertronic 6000 R's installed in the mid 80's. They were very effective for their time. They were replaced in 1999 with the Whelens we have now. Unfortunately the RE 1600 (Alertronic 6000 R) or any Alertronic rotating series are no longer produced, if they are it is special order. The tones have changed quite a bit too. As far as that being in Clarksville, it very well may be. I know they do have a handfull of these sirens with plans to install more in the future.
