I never understood the difference between the Vortex-O and the Omnialert units. Aren't they same thing? And why is the 2804 louder than the OA4?

The Vortex-O and the Omnialert is omni direction non rotating.

Both these do NOT have voice capability.

That explains why my letter has gone unanswered. *laughs*

How come the whoop signal for that A02 and the "demo" tones on their website don't match this Whoop signal for a WPS 4004/Vortex-R4?

It's about 50 seconds into the video when it cuts from Alert to Whoop. The Whoop signal in that video goes higher, like the "Wail" does for that A02. :|

This video shows that a Whelen siren is not a toy!

The Vortex-R is a rotating siren and the Vortex-O was omnidirectional. Whelen just changed the name of the Vortex-O to OmniAlert to put it in it's own series.

Whelen changed their tones a few years ago so, after the Whelen Vortexes were installed in Lewisville. They are a little deeper and the whoop tone cuts off at a lower pitch.

I like the tone quality of the Whelen Vortex sirens in that YouTube video from Owensboro, Kentucky better than I like this one. The Owensboro sirens sound louder, and a whole lot clearer to me. I do like the horn tone on all the Whelens though. Does anyone know what the DB rating is on those sirens in Owensboro?

Here's the link to the Youtube video of the Whelen Vortex in Owensboro.
