Robins AFB siren test

Wed Jan 23, 2008 8:10 pm

Today I recorded the weekly test of the Modulators and DSA's at the air force base I work at. I was unable to catch the voice message but I did manage to start my cellphone recording in time to catch one of the DTMF tones. Unfortunately my cell stopped recording so the test is split into two videos. Enjoy

It sounds like some are dual toned and the one closest to you is single toned. Did I get it right?

No they are all single toned. The base still has its old system of 1000Ts, but they are no longer used.

For such a small area though this place has a very high concentration of sirens.

I know what you mean. Too bad they don't use the old 1000Ts anymore. Although, from what I heard today, they still use the one atop the building right inside the MLK Blvd. gate. It went off during last Friday's state-wide test, along with the Modulators and DSAs.
