I like air-powered sirens because they have a very clean sounding tone to them, with almost no audible chopping noise.

I think the thunderbolt 1000-T has the most haunting sound found of all sirens. Next to that would be the dual toned 500 AT siren. Personally, I enjoy the chopped air chopped sound (especially on wind up and wind down.

i think the old ww 2 air raid sirens are the scariest, at least they still give me the creeps when im caught off guard. but for the longest time, i thought a Thunderbolt made those kind of noises because of a 1967 tornado preparedness video. for years i feared the Thunderbolt.
