This is in Council Bluffs, IA.

Anyone have any idea what this is? It sounds kind of like a 2001, but the pitch is way too low, and it doesn't sound like it's rotating.

I think this video is considered fake. I've never heard a 2001 sound like that before.

I wondered if it was fake, but I wasn't sure. If it is, they could have altered the pitch of a 2001 recording with a program like Audacity. It definitely has that 2001-like sound to it.

Sounds like an old 12 port model 3 or sick 12 port model 5.

According to another YouTube user in Council Bluffs, IA, where this was filmed, the siren you're hearing is in deed a sickly 2001. Here's a video that that user made, where some of Council Bluffs's other 2001's can be heard, and they sound in Attack like the sick one does.

Apparently, there were a lot of tornado warnings the day the first video was made, and by the end of the night, several of the sirens sounded like they needed repair. I'm guessing that the sickly one had dying batteries, and maybe a broken rotator. The first video doesn't sound fake to me.
