Video of a sick Thunderbolt

I was searching around Google Video for siren videos when I came across this one. It's of a Thunderbolt trying its best to sound "alert". But it obviously is having some problems. I don't know where this siren is but somebody ought to go out and fix it. I think its either got something stuck in it or maybe it isn't getting enough power. What do you guys think?

Wow, that siren needs repair badly. I think loudmouth is right, the siren's electrical connection is rusted or something... maybe corrosion?

I love how the people are talking in the background like its an amazing phenomenon (which its the first time they have ever seen a working siren! WOW!)

I like to hear peoples reactions when they hear a siren for the first time.

"Wow that thing is loud!" is peoples usual reactions.

Yeah, no crap, its an AIR RAID SIREN. Its SUPPOSED to be loud.

Of course, I have only seen working sirens in videos myself...

I've heard "Holy crap that was loud" to "OH $#!^ LETS GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE!!!!! NORTH KOREA IS &#$@ING NUKIN US!!!!!!!"

I don't think the rings are corroded, they look like brass. I think it's just a heavy build-up of dust or mould, or other dirt associated with damp air from the outside. And with that, the blower comes into play.
It doesn't need such a heavy repair. It's just fine like that for now.

Well, if they set the chopper voltage to the highest tap, and then run it for a couple of hours, maybe it will clean all the crud off the brushes, bearings, & rings!

Now, before you zap me, remember that we've had comments about reducing Tbolt sound output by stuffing a pillow in the horn, and cleaning out a Hurricane blower by plugging it in & ouring soapy water through it!

Yes, that Tbolt needs some TLC.

I'm no avid siren expert, and I don't restore sirens as a living, hobby, or both o-o

But I think it's foolish to leave a civil defense siren to fall into disrepair

It really should be fixed T-T
