Tornado Siren Test(Tullahoma)

Wed Sep 06, 2006 12:35 am

If all goes well this Saturday I will get a recording of the monthly test of the tornado sirens. I will probably get it from about 300 feet from one of the sirens.

A word of advice....I was about 300 yards away when I shot that Vortex a couple months ago. Depending on how sensitive your mic is, I wouldn't want to get any closer.

Hopefully tomorrow at noon the sirens will sound. I'm going to go 100 feet in front of it. I learned my lesson about going any closer than that. If they do sound tomorrow it will be 3 minutes of alert. They are calling for partly cloudy skies hopefull it will be sunny. I'll just keep my fingers crossed!!!! And hopefully my mic can handle it???

I got the recording. It was awsome!!!!! I was actually about 100 feet away from the siren and my recorder handled it perfectly, my ears are still ringing( that was 3 minutes of a 129 dB siren without hearing protection). It will be a while before I can get it uploaded on the computer, my computer is down, I'm using a friends right now. Give me a couple days and I'll have it up and ready!
